Mum & Dad love the story of 5 year old Jeff and the bulldog on Apuka St. Basically the neighbour’s friendly dog wandered into our property. I was lying on the couch happily reading a book. I hear a noise, put my book down, and find myself face to face with a slobbery bulldog face staring straight back at me. I got such a fright I jumped up, and out the lounge window that was open next to me.
How and where in the world did they meet?
Good question! How did a girl from Canada, ever meet a guy from New Zealand… err…..Indonesia?
The Story
It all started on a hot August day in 2004, when Jeff and his best friend Ben landed in Tokyo, Japan. It was the beginning of a new adventure….
….okay, this may take a bit too long, so let’s fast forward a bit to January 2008. Eva landed in Tokyo on a very cold January night. Since she didn’t know anyone except for some relatives whom she met only a few times in her childhood, she wanted to meet some English-speaking people who also lived in Tokyo in order to gain some support and build new friendships.
She joined a Tokyo networking group where she met a stylish young man named Ben. He told her about his band, and invited her to a gig in Shibuya. Nervous and not really sure how to get to the venue, she somehow got the courage to go out and found the venue with little trouble! Ben introduced her to everyone in the band, including the lead singer Jeff.
